NYSTCE book June 19, 2007 Shvonne McHugh (Westbury, New York USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This was the best fifteen bucks I've ever spent...this book helped me pass each test on the first try, which was no easy feat...it prepared me by knowing the exact format of each test..most people laughed at me cause I bought this, but for some reason they had to take each test at least twice to pass...
Great preparation for LAST August 26, 2008 N. Burke 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this book before taking the LAST. The test-taking tips are very helpful in preparing for any test you may take. It is not really something you can study for, but the practice tests really help you lean how to read and answer the types of questions that will be on the test. It is helpful when you know what to expect. The questions on the test were very similar to those in the book. I felt fully prepared and confident going into the test, and because of that, I aced it! I have yet to take the CST and ATS-W, but just knowing the test-taking skills they provided will help me on any test I take in the future.

REVIEW OF LIBERAL ARTS FROM COLLEGE March 29, 2008 J. WILLIAMS (YONKERS, New York United States) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This books is a good review of Liberal Arts from college and high school. Unfortanately, the test isn't about what you remember from History class. The test is a tedius experience of reading comprehension. You read the passage and then answer questions. The skills you need are being a critical reader and comprehending what you read. The math and Science review may be helpful for some. My advice would be to just review the format of the test, relax and go take the test. This book had me nervous about taking the test before I took it. It has been a few years since I took History, science etc. The book makes you feel that you need to remember all the stuff that you crammed and forgot many years ago. You dont need to. If you can comprehend and think critically about things, you should do fine. A review for this test would be about 1/4 the size and be worth about $3.99. They add a lot of stuff to make the book big and charge a "big book" price. This book did more to intimidate me than help me. Having said that, if you master this book, you will definitely pass the test. You will be a more "educated person" by reviewing all that stuff you learned many years ago. You would have just wasted a lot of unnecessary time if your goal is to just pass the test. Good Luck.
