TOEFL TAKER July 23, 2008 Toefl Taker (USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The phrases really helped me prepare for the speaking and writing sections. Actually, they've helped my English overall. A very clever, helpful book.
perfect phrases TOEFL companion August 4, 2008 Teacher in Miami (Miami, FL USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is NOT a total TOEFL preparation book nor does it claim to be. Look at the title! It's for the speaking and writing sections only. The book is small in size, but the pages have the same number of words as a "regular" text. The book is filled with sample essays and speaking responses. The size is what it is because it's part of McGraw-Hill's "Perfect Phrases" collection. My students and I have really liked it. There's nothing else on the market quite like it.
I got a 100 in TOEFL November 10, 2008 Ramiro Aznzar Ballarin (Madrid, Spain) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This small textbook help me to pass with high scores the exam. I got a 100! The book is not only perfect phrases for the speaking and the writing sections, inside you can find a list of independent writing prompts and another list of interesting websites to improve your speaking skills. Enjoy it!
Barely Any Content August 2, 2008 Rocker Dude (Canada) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book was a HUGE disappointment. It is so small, and the book has lots of filler and wasted space, (like vocabulary definitions, which can be found anywhere). There are hardly any answers or test content; the page size is so tiny; it's a pocket-sized book. This book is just a shameful moneygrab, a TERRIBLE product. Save your money and buy better IBT TOEFL books like Delta or Longman guides.
